Coastal Cafe design
Proposal concepts.
The cafe owners asked for a permanent covering over the alfresco dining area that would protect customers from the summer sun, the wind and the rain.
The cafe is located at the bottom of a huge apartment complex overlooking the ocean.
Therefore, the concept to provide a tinted polycarbonate roof allowed the natural weather to still create an ambience and for people on their balconies to not feel 'blocked out' - which was a concern for them.
There are living pot plants along the front and all of it can be dismantled if the cafe changes hands.
